    So true cmark.

Some of Australia’s best business owners would make fine politicians in my opinion, I have thought this for so, so long. I have members in my extended family who would excel in the politics game, however the fun in growing private family-run businesses far outweighs that of the political limelight.

Unfortunately, those who think politicians and elected/ unelected bureaucrats have the nation’s best interest’s at heart are completely mistaken. The last few years clearly demonstrates this.

Peta Credlin wrote a fantastic article this week in ‘the Australian’ on how astonishingly poor the current politicians in power are. It’s as if they are deliberately making decisions to our detriment, and I definitely tend to think this is so.

The gas intervention proposals are completely mind-boggling and I am glad the current government is being made aware of this by our Asian trade partners and by executives in publicly listed companies, as well as by fund managers who understand these types of impacts to financial models better than most.

It’s as if the members of government needed slaps on their wrists to get a wake up call.

Anyway, I believe COI’s pain will be short lived, and medium to longer term I have faith in Tor and co in maximising the underlying value here once government proposals are past us.

All the best to all of us holders.
