An interesting read. Historically, the VIX has a hard time breaking below 10. From what I can see, VIX has broken the 10 level since inception, 68 times with the lowest close being - 9.14 on Friday November 2017. So, not sure why there would be a massive short position at current levels, but then again, it's not what we know that's important, but what we don't know that's important.
