The ban worldwide on short selling (in different forms) also contributed to a big short squeeze in Financial stocks globally on Friday night..
NAB reported short positions 18/9 32,785,682 shares
Thats $754M or .75BLN short
Monday should be a good day for the holders and the buy side IMO.
(I was hedged last week and let go of the short side.)
