Interesting concept. Downloaded the app the other night to take a look. No major issues. Search seems like it could use some fine tuning, e.g. I searched "2L milk" and a bunch of 2L plastic containers came up as results. No milk. Possible things to consider imo are:
- The supermarkets may have discounts based on certain spending thresholds, e.g. $20 off $120 spend, or loyalty program rewards on certain items e.g. 4x woolworths rewards points on cheese products. I don't think the app takes into account these discounts, so you may not be getting the best deal for a particular shop
- Splitting a shop across two different supermarkets is time consuming, which is a real cost. The savings you gain from buying an item on special at Coles that's not on special at Woolies, may be offset by having to go to the supermarket a second time.
I don't think I'll be using this app for now, but will keep an eye on it.
