robbbb, in honesty, i found out about the source after posting.

as you know, cycles and t.a. does not really on news/f.a., but it still amazes me when the two coincide. the stress test was a totally crazy idea that was bound to backfire.

however, regardless of who said what, that story was all over the net last night and was even being discussed on cnbc. news is news....and sadly, it doesn't matter if it is not totally accurate.

at times, what appears to be a crazy story will spook the majority.....but these stories gain traction because of distrust and fear.

and why would the public trust the govt when they are treated like idiot children. the bloomberg article from the 10th of april is a perfect example:

April 10 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Federal Reserve has told Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Citigroup Inc. and other banks to keep mum on the results of “stress tests” that will gauge their ability to weather the recession, people familiar with the matter said.

The Fed wants to ensure that the report cards don’t leak during earnings conference calls scheduled for this month. Such a scenario might push stock prices lower for banks perceived as weak and interfere with the government’s plan to release the results in an orderly fashion later this month.
