Cyberguy,
There seems to be great confidence that the Opposition would (if they win), simply grant the TOL regardless of their pre-election promises..
I am not in that camp.
They may well grant it, but I am pretty sure they would first put Lynas and all of the government bodies through yet another waiting game as they insist that a whole bunch of new checks are done (including but not limited to the NYC claim about the tanks)... unlike the current Gov. they have nothing to gain from allowing the TOL to happen and a lot of face to lose if either
Lynas starts and anything goes wrong (especially after they have claimed it was so unsafe).
or
Lynas starts without them making extra effort to ensure it is safe and that the locals believe it is safe.
Sadly, I have zero faith that the opposition would not just delay the TOL to the point where the company has basically bled itself out.
I never thought I would have a strong opinion on the election outcome, however that has proven itself incorrect.
Now I find myself wondering if the current gov. could possibly lose.
