You'll either be bitten by the bug or never trade again after this! I got burnt on my first three small tentative attempts and it took me years between each one to trust myself and the market again, but the best lessons are painful ones - if I'd been more lucky I may have got cocky and made much bigger mistakes.
Since then I've done pretty well, so stick with it, do research, gain knowledge and be disciplined enough to follow and refine a strategy.
