Fully agree with you Rolf.
I have some sympathy with the journalist - an outsider looking into a company developing a revolutionary new product and questioning a $350m market cap - particularly when the product is third quarters completed and there is no published timetable to revenue.
What the journalist is missing is the fact that development started in the early 2000's, the technology has over 50 (?) patents and the company has methodically worked through the commercialisation issues with leading technology companies (Sony, ICsense) to a point where it is about to demonstrate it to industry related audiences worldwide over the next few months (announcement 25/8/14).
We are rapidly approaching the end game here - either the speakers work and have commercial appeal to industry players (Sony, Samsung, Apple, etc) and the company is worth $100-200 per share or it fails to meet industry expectations and the company shares are sub $1. At the current share price we effectively own an option over the success of the commercialisation of the speakers.
The shares are tightly held - I would estimate 70-80% are owned by Directors, Product Developers, Long Term supporters of the Directors. These are not seller. And even if they tried to be sellers, the market is so thin, their volume would send the stock crashing. They are here for the long term.
The statements made by the company have been so positive over the last 6 months, you get the feeling that they believe they have achieved the product that the commercial market wants.
Recent volumes have shown that we have attracted the attention of day traders - so we are going to see volatility in the price until we get the next guidance from the company. We have also attracted sectors of the media - trying to figure out what is going on with this company.
I'd love to see an industry players say - we want this technology - and buy the company at a price, and they have exclusive commercial use. Nor sure how that affects Sony and its Joint Development Agreement (signed July 2011) which also begs the question, what is Sony actually doing, as there has been little reference to their involvement for quiet a while.
