Has any information been published on test runs for the wafer yields? This essentially determine the cost of their product and what kind of market they'll be targeting.

Keep in mind that good products don't always succeed. A recent example being solar panels developed by the Australian National University with 600% increased efficiency. Never got up as a marketed product. Tread wisely and good luck.

The problem I see with this is that unless they can produce a product that for a mass market entirely removes the requirement and surpasses the quality of already cheaply available DACs, it won't get off the ground except as an incredibly niche concept like that seen with plasma-speakers. Incredible sound and 'wow factor' but never a mainstream product.
