NYMEX-US crude jumps more than $1 at open

SINGAPORE, Dec 29 (Reuters) - U.S. crude oil futures advanced more than $1 a barrel in opening trade on Monday, climbing for a second day on growing signs of OPEC's compliance with production limits and speculation that oil's deep slide had been overdone.
U.S. light, sweet crude rose $1.28 to $38.99 a barrel by 2306 GMT with just under 400 lots traded.
