For the last 20-20 years I've heard talk about growing debt...Australia's foreign debt...public debt...debt debt debt debt....

And here we are, as prosperous as ever, with a tv set in every room, swimming pools, and the garage unable to accommodate the fleet of bigger, better, brighter cars.

Not to mention the growing household expenses: Back then we had a pittance of a fixed phone bill.

Now we have added but can afford the monthly internet bill, the mobile bill, Lady Gaga ringtones, foxtel...and the list goes on and on and on.

Who said we have never had it so good? He/she is right.
