Something to ponder regarding pipeline capacity.

My thoughts based on the following extract from a 1999 report.

    1. PGP is only about 53 years old, so there is a fair bit of useful left in it.

    2. It would appear that the maximum capacity can be increased quit markedly if required. (increased pipeline compression)

    3. It would appear that the current capacity is reduced to be able accept low-pressure gas direct from DBNGP.

    4. Careful design of the interconnector could allow PGP to operate at a far greater flow and provide gas at a pressure compatible with DBNGP.

    5. It would not be merely a pipe extension.

    6. If it complex and expensive, I would suggest that APA would be reluctant to spend big money until STX can demonstrate that it can provide the extra gas required.

    7. If STX doesn't get a wriggle on and get some modicum of success, the interconnector might not be ready later in 2024.

I wait for an update. All IMO, just thoughts to ponder. A lot has happened in the last 20 years. J L.
