Cooks recent comments suggest he’s not feeling in a politically courageous mood. There was a change of tone from earlier comments, that’s for sure. The current framework is a shambles but to the average man in the street, any policy that results in more gas being drilled and sent offshore isn’t going to be popular.
When doing nothing is a viable, most politicians will take this option.
