Where to start. The LNP handed out billions upon billions to households who then hoarded a lot of it. This hoarded cash is what the RBA is trying suck back today because people are now spending it. Back then at each step the laborites were demanding that the LNP hand out more and more billions.
To demand that bureaucrats should be able to read their crystal balls is straight out of a laborite play sheet. From memory not a single laborite was able to predict the pathway that the economy followed.
Laborites are always wise after the event but never before except rarely. Chalmers will expect his new RBA governor to talk up the economy if it hits a rough patch. This is what they all are expected to do.
Last time I looked it seems that we have amongst the lowest interest rates in the West. We are not the worst by a long shot.
Give your pessimism then I assume that you would support turfing out the big spending ALP who have pencilled in ~$185 billion expansion in the money supply. Every expansion without a productivity increase is basically a devaluation.
