re: todays drop RIO is down heavily as well ... most of my smaller cap miners are up today ( AGS,CMR,IGO,OXR ) ... I'm hearing a few hedge funds are hurting badly at present ( long commods, short equity indexes ... trade going wrong big time ) , might be some liquidation in the big caps as these are the stocks the hedgies use to proxy the commodity markets ... BHP and RIO provide huge liquidity in what are relatively pretty illiquid metal markets .
