Norwest Energy NL advises that at 0600 hours Western Standard Time
27th December 2002, the Ensco 53 jackup drilling rig was located at
latitude 19 degrees 39.2 minutes South; longitude 113 degrees 51.2
minutes East and is north-northwest of Barrow Island. Depending on
weather conditions the rig is expected to on location about 1500
hours Western Standard Time Tuesday 31st December 2002 with the well
commencing drilling about 2 days later.

The Ensco 53 is programmed to drill a minimum of 3 wells and possibly
7 depending on results of the firm programme. Drilling will be
undertaken in both WA-286-P(Norwest Energy 5%) and adjacent TP/15
(Norwest Energy 10%).

At this time, the Cliff Head 3 Appraisal well is scheduled as the
first well in this multi well programme. Cliff Head 3 will be drilled
on the same structure as Cliff Head 1 & 2 which intersected oil
offshore Perth Basin late 2001/ early 2002. Cliff Head 1 intersected
a 5 metre net oil column, while the successful number 2 appraisal
well intersected a gross oil column of 28.5 metres with a net to
gross ration between 60% and 65%.

The Twin Lions Structure is situated about 5 kilometres to the
north-northeast of the Cliff Head Oil Field and is geologically
similar, forming part of the same tend. Moondah is situated about 6
kilometres north of Twin Lions
