Vietnam rare earth ore is ionic element locked in layer of clay. Same/similar to southern china and Myanmar source. Only china has expertise to upgrade ore grade to high quality as only China mine and process this type of ore. US and Aus ore are hardrock, which can react with agent easily. But clay ore is not easy, metal element is locked between atoms thick layer of clay. When the clay has water, the gap between clay open, let element in, when it dry, water leakout first, leave larger molecule behind. Due to microscopic scale, it take long time to solvent and leak out all mineral.
currently, vietnam only able to upgrade ore to like 20-30% concentrate, with very small scale due to water and chemical intensive. They tried to sell on open market bid, but seem only china interested.
If someone than china buy this, it must be japan.
