Holy hell Amaranth - DJIA below 1,000!

Reading the DJIA thread this morning I couldn't help but be struck by the obvious increase in pessimism. The majority of posts by far are bearish.

The bottom might not be far away then?

We've already lost 1700-odd points on the XJO and 4772 is only 400-odd away. Expect a pause at 4772 before any move in either direction?

I suspect it might take a major event to change sentiment to bullish though. We haven't seen capitulation yet - that might be the required event as it often is.
