Phosphate - Australia & Mali
In Australia,
"The Burke River Project is located 25 kilometres north of Australias largest phosphate mine, Phosphate Hill. Initially pegged as a stand-alone uranium play Oklo now consider it highly prospective for phosphate. It is believed that the phosphatic units of the Georgina Basin, which are mined at Phosphate Hill, extend into the Burke River below younger aged Georgina Basin sediments"


In West Africa,

The permit covers an area of approximately 8,000km2 and contains approximately 185 kilometres of contiguous outcrop of phosphate-bearing shale.

With respect to the potential of the phosphate-bearing formation:

"The most interesting zone seems to be located between Tabankort and Samit, some 110km in extent, where the mineralized horizon is 0.5 to 2.2m thick. It consists of a phosphatic shale grading 18-20% P2O5 in its lower part overlain by a sand composed of coprolite grains and phosphate nodules assaying 28-32% P2O5".


"The potential of the area is considerable: the phosphate-bearing formation outcrops over 400km and large scale exploitation of these phosphates can be envisaged."

""Oklo estimates that the broader original Tatteul Phosphate Project area (the full 8,000 square kilometre project area) has a conceptual project exploration target of between 50Mt and 500Mt rock phosphate (not a reserve estimate). The Mali phosphate project looks to have potential to host a monster phosphate deposit.
