Another way of looking at the tighter contours, on the east flank of A&CL and also west of Crux, they indicate a steep ridge/escarpment.
So the Crux wells are on a table top & the boundary outlined in thick red shows a steep slope which is defines the boundry of a high/ uplifted block.
The blue or widely spaced contour pattern which is bounded by these steep slopes naturally define a Valley.
This is evident on the 3D topographic model shown in the next diagram.
