Though I agree with you, my opinion is that speculative stocks, particularly those in a position like FBR, who are yet to release a clear and detailed plan for commercialization and expansion seem like incredibly hard companies to quantify a future dividend payout.
The markets expectation of FBR has declined dramatically due to the CAT MOU termination and some changes to the original prospectus, whether that's for better or worse, we do not actually know.
At present, there's just not enough information at our disposal to realistically gauge a NPV of all future dividends to be even close to accurate. So you are correct in your justification of the equation.
Time will tell. 2019/2020 will be an interesting year for the holders.
Do you buy on the potential or wait for the announcement and potentially lose out on an additional 100-200% increase?
