Its a good point Sarah, I think Rog is just swallowing what ISD management feed him. He's right about the ongoing stability in the core ANZ business, but does not addresses the question of what happens when that moat is breached, which is inevitable because its integrity is reliant on things like hard copy newspapers still being central to media outlets. We all know hard copy newspapers will cease to exist at some point, and its not too far down the line on current trend. When that happens, the ISD monitoring advantage over other offerings in ANZ diminishes greatly.
Monty gives no weight to this being a third recent failure on the part of management to find substantial new revenue streams:
Social media monitoring
Social media advisory
Content marketing
None of the above 3 attempts, all involving acquisitions, has made the monitoring of old style media channels any less important to the long term viability of this company. It surprises me that the likes of Roger and Motley Fool etc keep spruiking ISD without addressing this issue.
