This is the problem with the world (and possibly the education system). People somehow started believing opinions = facts and even more bizarrely then feel offended when the actual facts are provided.
My opinion is this is caused by the way we teach kids everyone is a winner so they never learn how to lose but that is for a different discussion (noting that it is a different view to treating someone who loses as a loser).
You can have an opinion about anything you want but at least have the sense to adjust those opinions to the facts when provided.
