Thought this was very astute..especially in a Gold
newsletter...[GOLD OZ members area].

THE AUSTRALIAN UCG SECTOR....UCG POWER GENERATION IS A
TRANSITIONAL TECHNOLOGY ...an interesting story.

[the focus is primarily on Cougar,]

CXY is building a power station for $250 million,and
have agreement for their capital needs to achieve this
at Kingaroy in Queensland.

Net income will be in the order of $150 million per year.
The cost of construction covers the majority of the gas
production,.. we await figures from this company at the
end of November.

THAT IS A BIG INCOME FOR A LITTLE COMPANY.

Power usage facts..Queensland uses about 11,000 MW PA,
and demand is growing a 300 MW per annum,conventional
coal fired power stations are not being built,and take
Far Longer than UCG to construct.

UCG is at the lower end of the cost curve,and as fossil
fuels increase in price over time,conventional coal
extraction methods will just keep rising in cost.

UCG is a viable part of the worlds energy needs,and the
three publicly listed companies,are leaders in the field.
