I guess it all hinges on whether you believe we will trend globally towards a more digital world of cross-border commerce, or away from it.
I suspect we are only going to see more uptake and more interconnectedness as time goes on. Whether that is because it becomes a readily accepted currency or even a form of collectible digital gold, there is no competing store of value out there at the moment which can operate across all countries and all time zones 24/7 secured by massive mathematical proof of work, which can be transmitted electronically almost instantly.
If people don’t see value in that, well, that’s on them.
