The recent report on the rock chip samples at Cockabidnie revitalised my interest in CXM, so I thought I'd take the wife and kids out for a fishing holiday on Eyre Penninsula and have a scout around EL 3609 & 3498 while I was there.

These leases are very close to Cleve, which is the wealthiest town in the area, mostly due to wheat. Lots of water and infrastructure.

The 2 leases abutt each other and are about 10KM from a rail line. There are power transmission lines running overhead and ready access to fresh water. CXM has a 100% entitlement to iron ore on these leases.

The 26 rock chip samples taken had an average grade of 66% Fe and 0.009% P, ie high grade and low impurity. IF these samples are indicative of the ore in the area and IF the resource extends to the northeast and southwest as they think it might. Then this will be a valuable resource of high grade DSO Hematite close to existing infrastructure. Two big IFs. But this will make the low grade hematite at Wilgerup look like a very poor cousin.

Many of the local folk have all heard of CXM and all have a story to tell about some of the CXM geos and drillers that they have met. After all, CXM is the largest explorer in the region.

And now for the interesting bit. A couple of the locals told me that one of those strange looking aeroplanes with wires running along the sides and a large boom sticking out the back has been flying over the farms about 15 miles northwest of Cleve, but it's not flying over there anymore. I reckon this was the gravity survey plane that CXM has been talking about hiring. If my guess is right, we can expect an announcement about the extent of the Cockabidnie Hematite. Early days yet and we need lots of drilling. But we should soon find out the size of this potential high grade, low impurity DSO hematite.
