I have to agree with meerkat on this one.

I believe in market cycles - they're obvious, fractals - absolutely the same patterns occur at different scales. However these patterns are similar but never identical. What's more the flapping of a butterflies wings in the Pilbara can cause a storm in Shanghai. History doesn't repeat, it usually rhymes but occasionally goes completely haywire.

Recognizing patterns and their likely (or possible) outcomes is useful work. Trying to predict absolute numbers, dates and times is not only fraught with danger but a little pointless as regards the potential gains to be had.
