I can be wrong here, but I sort of agreed with Meerkat.
if you simply plug a number and back dated to history, you will most likely find something.
Not to say it is not useful, etc, but a lot of thing can be considered coincident.
For example, do you really believe in Nostradamus? was he the greatest predictor, or was he a total lier? It is hard to tell, isn't it?
Now, to make something really useful, you have to use it to predict the future.
If whatever you predicted comes true, then it by itself means something; otherwise it may not be what you think it is.
You can back test your TA system and prove you can make money all the time using it; but if you use it and ended up not making money, it is a bit useless.
just my opinion, don't mean to say anything is useless. I am sure a lot of thing are quite useful.
