I actually read that same article when I was looking into the JobBank agreement.

Although I still considered the oil crisis as a more likely turning point, the article suggested to me that this was feasible as the start date for the decline. So it basically gave me enough confidence to use this date as the turn date. Without reading the article I probably wouldn't have accepted that event as significant enough and not posted.

I was also going to post the website link but completely forgot. So thanks for posting as its its definitely worth reading to understand that GM may have lost their way right there and then.
