More bad news fro RFG/Crust Pizza, page-16

I cant really feel too sorry for franchisees.... these ppl put hundreds of thousands of dollars into a franchise model that they know: must revamp every x number of years, must buy all stock from their master, must train all staff thru the franchise.... when do they expect some sort of payback? 20 years?? Not to mention the only way to make money in these high labour intensive businesses are for the owners to work 50/60 plus hours a week and pay themselves a wage that their full time baker/ chef would exceed. Quite often these ppl just have money and no retail or management backgroud- lambs to the slaughter really.

Must also be said in know this is happeneing in the IGA franchise as well... margins are wafer thin and in WA there are over 40 stores on the market and have been for many years. Selling goodwill is just a thing of the past in retailing these days
