I think this just shows that closing underperforming stores and having a smaller network really is the best course of action. Charge franchisees too much (like RFG) and it sends the franchisees to the wall, or not charging them enough (which I assume is what has happened in AFD's case if the franchisor was losing $1m a month) and they suddenly goes bust with no notice... and the franchisees are still the ones that have gone to the wall.
