I think Matchbox20 point is that as RFG is renting many stores (often within the same center) they have bargaining power to get deals on rents. But of course GJ, DK and Mich's are in direct competition with each other. They all have points of difference, but are ultimately a place where people grab a cuppa and a treat. So is Muffin Break, Degani's, McCafe and a heap of other chains. A shopping center can only sustain so many before the available customers are spread too thin.
