Goodman signs Linfox for Stockyards

Lands developer Goodman Group says it will build a $55.8 million, 27,000 square metre logistics facility at its Stockyards Industrial Estate in Hazelmere for trucking giant Linfox.

The facility will accommodate Linfox's Western Australian warehouse and distribution operations, and will be completed by March next year.

Goodman said the development had an expected completion value of $55.8 million and has an initial 10-year lease term.

"We are delighted to have been selected by Linfox to undertake this latest development at Stockyards which builds on our long-established relationship in developing facilities for Linfox," Goodman SA and WA general manager, Travis Hardman, said.

The Stockyards estate has been a hit for Goodman, which completed MTU Detroit Diesel's 10,000 square metre facility in April and a 16,295sqm development for Toll IPEC in October.

Goodman is currently developing a 41,378sqm warehouse for Coca-Cola Amatil, which is scheduled for completion in September.

The entire Stockyards development will become Perth's largest freehold industrial estate held under one title following completion of the Linfox facility.

Its combined end value for the 95,000sqm-plus of industrial space is more than $180 million.

"Goodman have transformed what was once a semi-rural area, into a central transport and logistics hub, and we have found that there has been an ioncrease in demand for the Hazelmere region on the back of Stockyards Industrial Estate," Colliers International industrial director Wayne Chorley said.

Goodman said it would explore further opportunities in the Perth market.
