To break into larger Main Roads and rail projects in Australia it takes many many years as they are conservative and want to see significant experience over a long period of time. In this competitive market the highly experienced companies like Laing, Leighton, John Holand, Fulton Hogan, Georgiou etc are pricing very comparatively with excellent experience.
Decmil will be limited to smaller projects like the award last year of a $8m bridge over a rail line with a JV partner. Little money in it and a new JV partnership increases Decmil risk. It will be interesting to see if they make a profit on that project?
