Without going wayback I recall that I may have said that STO seeing all the small gas companies in QLD get taken over acted to tie up ESG opportunistically knowing that HGO and Gastar were willing. STO didnt want to be left out especially after the QGC debacle. They acted pre-emptively to avoid being gazumped. There was obviously a speculative element there as Appraisal was incomplete and is still underway.
STO is looking a bit silly having paid $1 when it could buy what it doesnt own now for no more than 85cps ironically the last ESG SPP offer :)
When is your last day at HC before you take a well earned holiday.
