poyndexter, I don't think anyone is against what you are suggesting. It's the approach some are trying to shove down our throats that's objectionable. No one has actually shown the cost-benefit analysis of the an ETS. No one has shown how it will reduce our CO2 emissions. We need a proper discussion on what is the best way to reduce pollution and GHCs. I find it laughable to see say the Greens demanding much bigger cuts in CO2 yet we all know it can't happen unless we start building nuclear power stations. All other forms of power generation are far too expensive to make the sort of cuts they demand. Yet even if we did all this we would make possibly less than 0.01 C difference to the climate, at the risk of destroying our economy. So, the only way to make a real difference is for the whole world to work together. Will this happen? Time will tell. Until the world does there's no point in destroying our economy just to prove a point.
