Coalition transport spokeswoman Bridget McKenzie has refused to say if the country’s three major airlines have alerted her to any flight upgrades she has received but which she has not officially disclosed.
The Australian Financial Review on Wednesday reported Senator McKenzie had been forced to check with Qantas, Virgin and the administrators of REX about whether she received multiple business class upgrades on domestic and international flights after originally claiming it had only happened once.
Sources familiar with Senator McKenzie’s travel, but not authorised to speak to the media, claimed she received upgrades as recently as this year from Qantas that were not disclosed on her parliamentary register of interests.
