I'm wondering why vanadium isn't getting bought up like crazy at these prices by all the companies predicting and wanting a piece of future VRFB rollout.
Maybe it is, but steel is still such an overwhelming chunk of what vanadium is used for, that overall it still drives the vanadium price and we're just not noticing vrfb firms are quietly stocking up?
Just throwing the discussion out there, as that comment from someone "If vrfb's aren't taking advantage of the current low vanadium prices, what makes people think that uptake will be higher if vanadium price rises again?".
It's a pessimistic quote, but it's hard not to notice that it seems this is the perfect time to put forward a financial case for vrfb's, while vanadium is dirt cheap..
We likely need to wait for economics of scale in vrfb manufacturing before we might see a better cost profile than we do now, so...
what gives?
