Is not the hedge book out of the money by about 50 million US, they owe 250K oz (in the next month or so) of gold at an average price of 404 US or so? Correct me if I am wrong.
I am not saying that they will go into administration, but it is becoming more difficult to imagine any other scenario without some act of mercy and charity from those who are owed the gold.
Very high risk, given the reward (keep operating?).
As per the comment if they had not hedged there would be no gold mine. Perhaps this would have been a better outcome as they would be debt free and have free carry in their other PNG projects. Just my opinion.
