Federal Budget 2013: Julia Gillard says Tony Abbott is'simply not up to manaing the economy
JULIA Gillard has declared Tony Abbott "simply not up to it" when it comes to the economy.
As MPs faced their first parliamentary question time in seven weeks, the Prime Minister took aim at Mr Abbott branding him "pathetic".
Responding to a question from the Opposition Leader about her stance on an increase to pensions, Ms Gillard said he was simply trying to divert attention away from his poor economic record.
"As the Leader of The Opposition isn't he embarrassed to be so pathetic on budget day," Ms Gillard said. "This is a man who is simply not up to it.
"Here we are in 2013 and he has thrown back to the election debate in 2010."
