The risk of drilling another well and finding oil was probably low risk. But what we're after are wells that will provide a return on investment.
The key risk was commercial - making sure the well was located in the optimum location to develop/appraise the field.
On a small discovery you can't afford to make mistakes. One well too many ..ooops where did our ROI go? You find that out a few years down the track.
The fable of the Hare & the tortoise springs to mind.
If you what to keep pumping money into CTP of being diluted - go ahead follow JH - he certainly knows how to do that.
