FORD says an industry-wide fall in the sale of large vehicles is behind its decision today to cut 440 jobs in Victoria.
The announcement follows a $103 million emergency payment from the federal and state governments and Ford's American parent company in January.
The company is facing a 24 per cent slump in year-on-year Falcon sales and a massive $290m annual loss, which was announced in May.
