The Libs haev yet to learn by their mistakes. Although they did perform well most of the time (in particular paying off the debt in preparation for the current splurge in spending - very fortunate for us even if accidental) they still don't understand why they will not be re-elected any time soon (unless the government stuffs things up too much). They simply do not have the vision. They have always been too conservative, hence their blinkered view to introducing new and innovative changes to our way of life. This is not necessarily a bad thing. However, too much of anything is not good; and that includes too much of nothing. So, if the Libs want to increase their chances of winning, they need to come up with good ideas. That's a tough job for any party, let alone the Libs.
