"lol - it's funny how labor supporters conveniently leave some threads and posts alone.
Looks like no-one is going to refute that the Battersea power station photo was doctored to make it look "evil"...lol
So, can we then safely assume that labor has done another deceptive thing with this ad?"
Funny Zonetrader how we discussed this same subject elsewhere on the political forum yet you post this lie here saying no one wants to discuss it.
By the way it is not a Government funded Ad and is not an funded by the labor party either.
Your whole post is deceptive.
You said this on the "alp fails to profit in latest newspoll"
"And then to doctor up the UK Battersea power station that was closed down in 1983 to look like the chimneys have soot and add the steam that is non-existent in the original picture.
This has scam written all over it, IMO."
I replied with this.
They could have use a picture of Hazelwood , the worlds least efficent carbon power station but I don't see how picking a computer drawing of old power station with chimneys changes the facts of the debate , it just most likely was a better fit for the frame. How is it a scam as it was shown as a drawing not a photo and was just being used to represent a coal fire power station which it once was.
Paranoid or what to focus on such a minor detail in an advert.
Hazelwood Power Station
"CO2 emissionsThe station was listed as the least carbon efficient power station in the OECD nations in a 2005 report by WWF Australia. The WWF reported that the power station produced 1.58 tonnes of CO2 per megawatt-hour of electricity generated in 2004 (official result was 1.55)[citation needed], which was a significant reduction of 6.6% from the 1996 levels of 1.66 Mt/TWh when the plant was privatised. This CO2 per megawatt-hour reduction is now over 10% based on performance to 2009.[12][citation needed]
With a 60% increase in power generation since 1996, Hazelwood now averages up to 16.0 million tonnes of carbon dioxide each year (the second highest emitter in the Latrobe Valley), which is 3 % of Australia's total carbon dioxide emissions, and 9 % of Australia's total CO2 from electricity generation.[13]
Australia's biggest carbon capture pilot plant, and one of the largest of its type in the world,[14] has been built at Hazelwood capturing up to 25 tonnes, or 0.05%, of CO2 per day."
