What was so good about Australia in the eighties. I remember it as a very bad time. Interest rates of 20% for a start. Some of the toughest times I have struck in business and I've been in business for a very long time. Bad droughts, crash of the beef and wool market when Australia fell off the sheep's back, riding on the sheep's back until then. Japan closed off the market for Australian beef. The dollar was floated and CRASHED. Some overseas debt doubled simply as a result of the value of the dollar.
Some people have either poor memories or there simply some things they want to forget.
