Don’t forget that we were trading above the current share price slightly less than a year ago. Any takeover bid needs to open a large chequebook or just not bother. Twiggy doesn’t need the $$ and will much prefer the accolades for keeping Austal locally owned, so its going to be a hard ask getting him to agree to a foreign bid unless it’s truly ridiculous money. My only worry now is that a stupidly low offer get kicked back with a “not for sale” signal and we retrace on the gains made over the past fortnight.
