JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) Uranium explorer Extract Resources was well placed to add substantial resources to its existing inventory over the next six months and beyond, chairperson Steve Galloway said on Monday.

The company reported that infill resource definition drilling at the Rssing South project, in Namibia, continued to return high-grade intercepts.

Extract planned to accelerate its exploration efforts by adding more drill rigs to the 13 drill rigs that were already on site, over the next four to six weeks.

We are pleased that we continue to return results with positive surprises at Rssing South - the quality of the original discovery continues to be confirmed, and if anything, gets better. We are conscious of the need to expand our regional exploration programme, Galloway noted.

Rssing South is one of two known uranium deposit areas in the larger Husab Uranium project, which is 100% owned by Extract.

A feasibility study for Rssing South was expected to be completed by mid-2010.
