Australia appears to have done pretty damn well over the years, and I think international investors know that, so im not sure its some sort of cover up?
When you look at Australias economic indicators compared with every other, we are believe it or not, one of the standouts. Some countries etfs explode for months at a time only to fall back down based on hype. Scared me off most of them.
Theres definitely some great international etfs out there. However buying them via Australia is crap with the low volumes. Take IXJ, global health, theres superb companies in that ETF, the stock price has done better than most, yet whenever I check the sales list theres about 5 sellers every time.
Ive only held US and Chinese etfs so far, haven't been game enough with other countries. Take India for example, country looks good on paper, but companies within those etfs always seem to underperform. US are definitely the most innovative and diverse by so far its not funny.
