On a serious note, banks are central to our society, they all seek to wrap their brand in values central to the well being of our families and our nation. Everyone of them seek to connect with us with advertising that reflect these facts, ANZ even have a set of values formulated to reflect this position, this is why, since they seek that stature we should as Australians expect them to act ways that are conssitent with that role.

IMO ANZ has shown itself to hold an extremely short sighted lack of commitment to these values, they have jettisoned these attributes to pursue short term and probably in the end ironically unobtainable financial gains, if they are proven to be wrong they will have tarnished their brand and reputation for nought.
