"You simply can't be that stupid as to think a company's yearly revenue equals its taxable profit for that year for ATO company tax purposes.
Surely it must've occurred to you pierogi that Telstra would have one or two minor deductable expenses incurred in earning the revenue $26.9 billion which would've reduced the tax payable to $81 million or are you honestly declaring here that Telstra are tax cheats?
You're just pretending you're that dumb, right?"

etherazer, you were referring to this post (https://hotcopper.com.au/posts/42388651/single)

I feel a response to your tirade is warranted given you appear not to have read my above post (let alone comprehended it) before launching into your outrage.

This is the sentence from the quoted News Limited article which has sent you into a tailspin.

"According to data from the Australian Taxation Office, Telstra paid $1.6 billion in tax in 2016/17. Its revenue of $26.9 billion was similar to that produced by the oil and gas industry but they paid just $81 million in tax."

It represents Telstra in a favourable light as a contrast to the oil and gas industry. Next time it may help to read and comprehend before throwing mud. Others may concede they were just out of order.
